Day 2 Along the Hood Canal
So. The first day proved to be a shakedown trip, with less than the budgeted mileage accomplished - that will cost some sunbathing time in southern California! But, there was that border crossing - "Yes", we told him, "we mean that Mexico", and two ferries to contend with, plus a major tire/tube puncture to repair, reaching Sequim (pronounced “Squim” by the locals), is not such a bad start to the journey.Today’s trip will be down the very scenic Highway 101, much of it along the Hood Canal, west of Seattle.

Woo-hoo ladies! What a great adventure you will have. Be sure to post lots of pictures for me. I will be an avid follower, living vicariously through anyone (such as yourselves) who leave the confines of the city. I look forward to hearing about your daily trek - it'll give me something to look forward to reading! Good luck!

We had snow flakes on Saturday May first. I went out Turkey hunting on my own since Luke was at a buddies. At 5:30 am it was bitterly cold.
ReplyDeleteHow is the weather there. Did you have to put on your Smart Wool undies and your snow tires or is the weather warmer. The cold weather here reminds me of Cochrane when it would snow in May.
Bruce.
Happy Birthday Lee and this is the perfect time to ask yourself that question again...if you didn't know how old you were...how old would you be?
ReplyDeleteHey Merryl and Lee. Got the email from Mike containing this blog site and news of your departure. Michael and I just came back from a weekend (kid free) on the Island. Saturday it was extremely high winds with gust of 50 to 80 km/hr. it snowed all day until 7:00 p.m. and the waves on Lake Manitou had to be 4 - 5 feet and temperatures hovering around zero to -3. Incredible for the 8th of May!!!
ReplyDeleteReally hope you have great weather! What is the weather like?
Have a safe and wonderful trip. We will be following along. :)
My good knee has gone bad, so now I can bicycle along with you at physio!
